2011-2012 Season
We usually start playing games in November with our "section" games starting after Thanksgiving. Section games are those that we play that count toward playoffs and a championship at the end of the season (for Boys JV & Varsity and Girls Varsity). Section games are dictated by the Diocese. We will play additional "non-section" games also to round out our schedule. These don't count toward our section record. Once we have the game schedule, it will be added to the website.

Player Attendance
Due to our participation numbers, this year more than ever it's important that we have good attendance to both practices and games.
We understand that things come up and your player may miss the occasional practice. Please do your best to get your child to practice - these are important as we are building your child's foundation through ball handling and shooting drills, plays and defensive drills. It's important that the whole team is on the same page in game situations - missing practices jeopardizes this. Please do your best to notify us of absences and late arrivals.
Game attendance is crucial this year. Our program participation numbers fluctuate every year - this is a small year for a couple of our teams. We need to know at least two hours in advance if your son or daughter will not be attending a game. We put together a substitution plan prior to the games, so it's important that we know who we have to work with. This is difficult to manage (and frustrating) if players we have planned for are absent.
Also, please let us know if you will be going directly to an away game and not meeting us at the school for our "caravan".
Volunteer Help at Games
Volunteers help collect admissions, sell concessions, and handle 50/50 raffles. These are important functions for our program - the proceeds of these activities pay for the refereesand other expenses related to the basketball program.
We are asking all parents with players on any of the teams pick at least 3 home game time slots to help out. There are 12 home game Sundays (plus our tournament at the end of the season). There will be at least 3 home games each Sunday, sometimes 4. Approximate game starting times will be 12:30p for Boys 3rd/4th, 1:45p for Girls Varsity, 3:00p for Boys Junior Varsity and 4:15 for Boys Varsity.
We are asking that parents sign up for part of the afternoon, ie. Boys 3rd/4th parents volunteer after their game so they are able to watch their children play and still help. We will have a sign-up sheet at the first Sunday game and ask that you pick a few time slots. We truly need participation from all families on this - we want to keep this fair between all the families so this doesn't fall on only a few.
There is one rule that we can't emphasize enough - the gym was refurbished recently, so we must be very diligent in making sure that absolutely no food or drink are brought into the stands. They must eat and drink in the hallway at the lunchroom tables - we must enforce this rule.
Thanks for all your help - we could not run the basketball program without you.
Uniforms
Each player receives two jerseys and one pair of shorts. These are to be worn to games only and must be returned at the end of the year.
We always try to wear the white jerseys at home and the green jerseys on the road. We ask that each player bring both jerseys to home games in case we need to change colors. On the road, green will always work - it's when we are at home that there is the potential for a visiting team to wear white like us - we will tell you in advance if you need to bring both jerseys (and corresponding t-shirts).
HOME: WHITE (Usually)
NOTE: T-Shirts worn underneath the jersey must match the jersey color. White (not grey) when we are wearing white and a bright "kelly" green to match the green jersey when we are wearing green. This is a league rule that will be enforced. If you don't have the right color shirt under your jersey, you can't play. However, you can always go without a t-shirt underneath if you so desire.
Away Game Caravans
This enables anyone who may need a ride to get one and those needing directions to obtain them at this time. We are now using Google Calendar for the game schedule. These schedule items have embedded maps and allow for easily generated custom directions from your home to the game location. If you intend to go directly to the away location on your own, let one of the coaches know so we aren't waiting for you at the school.
